Clinical Staff Training
Lifeline Vascular Care offers on-site training for clinical staff. RNs and RTs receive one-on-one training and on-going evaluations to ensure staff competence in the latest interventional technology and techniques. Additionally, extensive one-on-one training is conducted with each Access Coordinator to ensure proper administrative support is provided to the center.
Financial & Outcomes Reporting
Financial and outcomes reporting is one of the signature management services offered by Lifeline Vascular Care. Financial reporting, including balance sheets, income statements and accounts payable reports, is compiled, analyzed and reviewed monthly with physician practices.
Clinical outcomes, including patient encounters, procedure success rates, complication rates and case mix, are all tracked for each individual center and benchmarked to industry standards. Data from each individual access center is then compiled into one national average reported annually by Lifeline Vascular Care.
Facility Development, Construction & Operation
Lifeline Vascular Care supervises the design and construction of all new and remodeled access centers including relocations, expansions and renovations, as well as repairs and capital improvements.
We perform project management activities with architects, vendors, municipalities, contractors and licensing entities. We manage projects from inception to completion including building certification and treatment of first patients. Through a network of national vendors and general contractors, a competitive capital cost structure is maintained for all development projects.
Working with physicians, Lifeline Vascular Care follows the National Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Disease Quality Initiative (KDOQI) clinical practice guidelines for dialysis vascular access and tracks patient care, providing reportable outcomes to the entire care team. Access care data, including costs, impact on clinical outcomes, hospital admissions (and days) and access patency are measured to develop a continuous quality-improvement process to optimize each patient’s access care.
Furthermore, through an established set of policies and procedures written specifically for access centers, Lifeline Vascular Care enables every managed access center to adhere to CMS guidelines, OSHA guidelines and other applicable federal and state regulations. Every clinical staff member employed in an access center managed by Lifeline Vascular Care is thoroughly trained in radiation safety, quality assurance and risk management. Proper licensure, credentials and certifications are monitored and filed on behalf of managed access centers by Lifeline Vascular Care.
By closely monitoring these performance areas, Lifeline Vascular Care is able to drive clinical, financial and compliance success in each of its managed access centers.
Coding, Billing & Collections
Lifeline Vascular Care employs a skilled team of billers, collectors and coding specialists to process claims on behalf of our managed access centers. Our billers and collectors are extensively trained in billing compliance and our team of EDI specialists enable electronic claims to reach the proper intermediary.
Our certified and licensed coders review every superbill for accuracy and completeness prior to submission to enable optimal reimbursement. Lifeline Vascular Care publishes an annual guide titled “Procedure Coding in Interventional Nephrology” for use by all Lifeline Vascular Care affiliated physicians to enable appropriate and compliant coding practices. This guide details codes and the proper usage of each code for each type of procedure. Also included in this guide are illustrative cases to demonstrate real world application.
Purchasing & Inventory Management
Lifeline Vascular Care provides all managed centers “best value” products and services (technology, quality, price). To accomplish this, Lifeline Vascular Care identifies, qualifies and contracts with suppliers. The safety and efficacy of purchased products are monitored on an ongoing basis to maintain a provision of high quality products.
Lifeline Vascular Care develops and delivers services and programs that focus on recruitment, retention, performance management, training and development, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration and compliance for all access center employees.
Lifeline Vascular Care develops presentations, seminars and clinical tools to support vascular access education in the dialysis community. Many of our programs carry Contact Hours for nurses and patient care technicians. To learn more, please contact the Lifeline Vascular Care center nearest you.
Lifeline Vascular Care has a comprehensive electronic medical record (EMR) that captures data from patient scheduling, nurse assessment, procedure and post-procedure physician notes. Our system enables outcomes reporting and benchmarking against our network of centers.
Additionally, Lifeline Vascular Care provides general hardware and support services to our managed centers, including: general system maintenance, voice/data infrastructure, server hosting, help desk support and desktop/laptop provisioning.
