Distinguished Surgeon Joins Access Center for Dialysis Patients

Alsip, Illinois. 10/05/10 – Southwest Vascular Access Center (SVAC) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. David Shapiro to its organization, which owns and operates an outpatient vascular access facility in Alsip, IL.

Dr. Shapiro, a general surgeon, is a distinguished graduate of Princeton University, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the prestigious general surgery residency program at the University of Michigan. He is a charter member of the Vascular Access Society of America and one of only a select number of surgeons in the region with a focused and prioritized interest in surgical support for the management of renal failure. He has extensive experience in creation and maintenance of vascular access and has working relationships with over twenty dialysis units across the city and south suburbs.

“We are excited to add Dr. Shapiro to our access center,” said Dr. Dan McCormick, Medical Director of SVAC. “His fifteen years of experience placing accesses is a valuable addition to our comprehensive approach to patient care,”
